Partnering to Build Stronger Communities

October 17, 2019, was China’s sixth Poverty Alleviation Day. To support the national effort, Dongfang Electric and Dongfang Wind Power held a collaborative event in Tebuluo Township, Zhaojue County. During the event, a representative from Dongfang Electric spoke about the importance of strengthening grassroots organizations and shared insights with over 30 Party members, energizing efforts to reduce poverty in the local Yi community.

The team also worked with local leaders to plan community development initiatives, including building facilities for community activities, promoting model farming practices, and establishing night schools for farmers.

Reaching Out to Families in Need

From October 15 to 17, teams from Dongfang Electric and DEC Wind visited Tebuluo, Laniu, and Qianhago villages. They provided direct support to families, assessed local challenges, and offered tailored assistance to ensure poverty alleviation efforts were effective and impactful.

Warmth for Winter: Supporting Children

Advancing rural vitalization comprehensively, DEC consolidates and expands poverty alleviation achievements while actively serving the overall social and economic development situation and setting up platforms for addressing social affairs. Attaching great importance to issues concerning livelihoods of people, the Company gives back to society deep down.

As temperatures in Zhaojue County dropped below 10°C, the teams launched the "Warm Winter, United Hearts" campaign, distributing winter care packages to 120 children. These packages included hats, scarves, and gloves to ensure they stayed warm and comfortable during the cold months. The teams also worked on a mural project for an early education center in Dukuo Village, brightening the learning environment for local children.

Moving forward, Dongfang Electric and DEC Wind will continue to drive poverty alleviation projects, strengthen partnerships, and establish sustainable mechanisms to support underprivileged regions in achieving long-term growth and prosperity.
